Sophie joined JKA in 2025 as an urban design intern. Sophie was born and raised in Berkeley, CA but moved to LA to attend Occidental College for undergrad. She is now pursuing her Master’s of Urban and Regional Planning with a concentration in Design and Development at UCLA.

At JKA, Sophie is working on several objective design standards projects. For Temple City, she is reading and summarizing planning documents and preparing an existing conditions report using observations from the Temple City Site Tour. She is also supporting outreach and engagement efforts for the Ventura and Calabasas Objective Design Standards. Through urban design and planning, Sophie hopes to help plan and design liveable, accessible, and equitable places in Los Angeles that bring people together.

In her free time, Sophie is working on her tennis serve and is on the hunt for the best croissant in LA.
