Amee Bhatt is the Director of Urban Design at JKA and oversees all urban design projects. At JKA she has completed objective design standards, master and specific plans, and feasibility studies for both public and private clients. Her multifamily and mixed-use objective design standards shape projects across Southern California including in Calabasas, Laguna Beach, Palm Desert, Palos Verdes Estates, Temple City, and Ventura. Her master planning work on the Signal Hill Civic Center Master Plan was recognized with an American Planning Association California Chapter Urban Design Award of Merit. Amee brings extensive project outreach experience to each project and leads JKAs’ efforts to expand public processes with interactive exercises that foster engagement. Amee places special emphasis on developing the long-term quality and equity of the public realm and pedestrian experiences through create active, engaging, and sustain- able place making. Outside of JKA, Amee is on the 99 Neighborhoods Advisory Board and is actively involved with the American Planning Association Los Angeles Chapter.
