JKA 25 Years: 2015

JKA, contributing to a team led by Estolano Advisors, worked on two studies for potential freeway cap projects reuniting communities split by past highway construction; in Hollywood, the Hollywood Central Park proposal, and in Downtown Los Angeles, the Park 101 concept. For these projects, JKA prepared land use, design, and development concepts to reconnect the neighborhoods and test development feasibility of adjacent sites. The firm also utilized GIS software to analyze community demographics in support of the creation of infrastructure finance districts. Throughout, JKA visualized concepts and illustrated opportunities to introduce green infrastructure in sectors of Los Angeles lacking open space resources.
