Staff Spotlight: Sophie

Introducing our Urban Design Intern, Sophie! Sophie was born and raised in Berkeley, CA but moved to LA to attend Occidental College for undergrad. She is now pursuing her Master’s of Urban and Regional Planning with a concentration in Design and Development at UCLA!

Here at JKA, Sophie is working on Temple City’s Objective Design Standards by reading and summarizing planning documents and through preparing an existing conditions report using observations from the Temple City Site Tour. She is also supporting outreach and engagement efforts for the Ventura and Calabasas Objective Design Standards. Through urban design and planning, Sophie hopes to help plan and design liveable, accessible, and equitable places in Los Angeles that bring people together.

She is currently on the hunt for the best croissant in LA (recommendations appreciated).
