From the JKA archive! Before affordable flat screens and home entertainment, multiplex cinemas were ubiquitous. JKA, then known as Urban Studio, was asked by Pacific Theaters to reimagine a food court as a game arcade. The space was stuffed with the latest amusement machines, games, and fuzzy prizes; all with a "movie" theme. These renderings, done for a conditional use permit, were meant to show that the Pacific Winnetka 21 "Fun Zone" was a community-friendly space. After ten years of service, the Zone was closed and today the site is being redeveloped as a Tesla service center. How times change!
