Laguna Beach ODS

This past month, JKA met with the Laguna Beach City Council, Planning Commission, and Design Review Board for a Joint Study Session to review the draft Single-Family and Two-Family Residential Design Standards. The objective of these standards is to facilitate more "by-right" development that maintains the design quality of the local community. Support for the draft was positive with one reviewer describing the approach as "fresh" and "innovative", particularly the use of "form groups" rather than "styles" of architecture. Feedback from both decision-makers, the public, and City staff are now guiding revisions to the standards that will be presented at public hearings in late summer.
