JKA 25 Years: 2020

Working with the City of Fullerton and stakeholders in 2020, JKA, leading a subconsultant team, prepared a City- and SCAG-sponsored specific plan for Fullerton’s downtown “Rail District.” The plan’s vision proposed the transformation of an obsolete downtown-adjacent industrial district into a residential, live-work, and commercial transit-oriented community that aimed to increase housing, jobs, walkability, and recreational opportunities in the center of Fullerton. The no longer used railroad tracks bisecting the district were reimagined as a shaded and flexible street and plazas that connected to the citywide trail and bicycle network.
