18220 Colima Road Retail Center

JKA was asked by the client to design a 7,100 square foot, one story retail center in Rowland Heights. The building consists of one larger retail space and three smaller ones.

The existing site was formerly a bank and JKA had to assess certain challenges such as relocating a transformer that served the surrounding neighborhood.

The client’s vision was to create a taller than average retail space that would catch the eye of pedestrians and cars passing by. JKA helped accomplish this by adding metal paneling to the building that increased the height, for a total building height of 34 feet. The black brick CMU materials allow for a sleek look while still remaining in character with the neighborhood.
